Mechanical Lock

Whittet-Higgins has an extensive line of mechanical lock retaining devices, including the Bearlok, Shoelok, and Clampnut. Avalailable in both metric and inch sizes in a variety of materials. Precision bearing threads in Series BL, CNB, NSH, and TLN are manufactured to National Standard Class 3. Precision ISO metric threads in Series BLM, CNM, NSHM, and TLM are manufactured to Class 4H. Unified threads in Clampnut series CNC, CNF, CNS, SNC, SNF, and SNS are manufactured to Class 2B.

Series Name Description
BL Bearlok The BEARLOK are the most precise adjustable retaining devices with the highest load capacity for holding bearings and other power transmission components on shafts and spindles; they lock from the outboard face for radially inaccessible assemblies.
BLC Bearlok Shrink Disc Bearlok Shrink Disk Collar are designed for securing various power transmission components to keyless shafts, for use as critical application shaft stops and in applications where installation access tangent to the shaft in unavailable.
BLM Bearlok The BEARLOK with ISO Metric Threads made to closer tolerances as are all metric Whittet-Higgins precision products.
CNB Clampnut The CLAMPNUT are mechanical lock adjustable threaded retaining devices with split clamping feature which allows flexibility for fit and lock onto shafts and spindles, especially where there may be size variations of threads.

NSH Shoelok The SHOELOK are precise adjustable threaded retaining devices for holding bearings and other power transmission components on shafts and spindles where clearance is available radially to secure the locking components.
NSHM Shoelok The SHOELOK made with ISO Metric threads made to closer tolerances as are all metric Whittet-Higgins products.
SNC Clampnut The CLAMPNUT mechanical lock adjustable threaded retaining devices made in two pieces in order that it may be placed around portion os a chaft or spindle which is not at an end. This series has Unified Coarse series of threads.
SNC-S Clampnut The CLAMPNUT mechanical lock adjustable threaded retaining devices made in two pieces in order that it may be placed around portion os a chaft or spindle which is not at an end. This series has Unified Coarse series of threads. Made in stainless steel.
SNF Clampnut The CLAMPNUT mechanical lock adjustable threaded retaining devices made in two pieces in order that it may be placed around portion os a chaft or spindle which is not at an end. This series has Unified Fine series of threads.
